Requested: a modern, git-status-aware file explorer instead of
nerdtree (which has no built-in git integration). neo-tree.nvim shows
per-file git status (modified/staged/added/etc.) directly in the tree,
plus dedicated git-status/buffers/diagnostics panels if wanted later.
- Same auto-open-when-no-file / stdin-guard behavior as the old
nerdtree autocmds, reimplemented for neo-tree.
- close_if_last_window = true replaces nerdtree's manual "quit when
it's the last window" autocmd.
- Added <leader>e to toggle it, since neo-tree isn't opened by a
memorable bare command the way :NERDTree was.
Vim's own vimrc still uses nerdtree, untouched - this only affects the
Neovim-only config.

Not part of the original vimrc (no auto-pairs plugin existed there) -
added per request for PyCharm-like brace/quote/HTML-tag auto-closing.
- nvim-treesitter (main branch, the current rewrite) with parsers for
the languages already covered by the LSP/plugin setup, plus
highlighting enabled generically via vim.treesitter.start() on
FileType (a no-op, caught by pcall, for filetypes without a parser).
- nvim-autopairs for bracket/quote auto-closing.
- nvim-ts-autotag (treesitter-based) for HTML/JSX/similar tag
auto-closing and renaming.

Replace the neovim stow package's symlink into vim/.vim with a real,
independent Lua config: init.lua + lua/config/* (options, keymaps,
autocmds, lazy.nvim bootstrap) + lua/plugins/*.lua (one file per plugin
group).
- Plugin manager: lazy.nvim (self-bootstrapping, no submodule needed).
- Carries over every plugin from the vimrc as-is: vim-airline (+ themes,
tmuxline), vim-janah colorscheme, nerdtree, vim-signify, nerdcommenter,
ale, vim-fugitive, quick-scope, ctrlp.vim, claude-code.nvim, plus
vim-ansible-yaml/vim-terraform gated the same way the vimrc gated them
(executable() checks, now as lazy.nvim `cond` functions).
- Replaces YouCompleteMe + jedi-vim entirely with nvim-lspconfig +
mason.nvim + mason-lspconfig.nvim (ensure_installed: pyright, lua_ls,
bashls, terraformls, yamlls, ts_ls, cssls, html; clangd enabled
directly since it's already on PATH via Xcode CLT) and blink.cmp for
completion (+ friendly-snippets), with blink's LSP capabilities merged
into every server's default config.
- ALE stays as a pure linter/fixer (g:ale_disable_lsp = 1) so it doesn't
duplicate nvim-lspconfig's diagnostics/hover/go-to-definition.
- Ports the vimrc's general settings/functions (options, window-nav
keymaps, arrow-key disabling, StripTrailingWhitespace, AppendModeline,
the git->Git abbreviation) to Lua; drops the w!! sudo-save abbreviation
(vimrc's own comment notes it doesn't work under Neovim) and the
reload-vimrc-on-save autocmd (no clean Lua equivalent).
Vim's own vimrc, ftplugin/python.vim, and plugin installs are completely
untouched and unaffected by this change.

Neovim is about to get its own standalone Lua config and will no longer
source this file, so the has('nvim') branches (claude-code.nvim setup,
<BS> remap, TermOpen augroup) are now unreachable. Collapse both blocks
down to their else branches, which become the only/default behavior:
vim-claude-code plugin and its settings, unconditionally.
Everything else in the file is untouched.
